80th Anniversary of D-Day at Eisenhower National Historic Site

Join Eisenhower National Historic Site (NHS) to remember and honor the men and women who 80 years ago risked everything to make the world safe for democracy. From June 6-9, Eisenhower NHS will host special programming on-site and in Gettysburg National Cemetery to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the D-Day liberation of Normandy.

Eighty years ago, General Dwight D. Eisenhower led the Allied Expeditionary Force as it began the liberation of Western Europe from fascism and tyranny in World War II. With the eyes of the world upon them, soldiers, sailors, and airmen from over a dozen Allied countries braved the dangerous seas, skies, and sands of Normandy on June 6, 1944.
