Confederates Take the Shriver House

The Battle of Gettysburg was a horrifying experience for the residents of this historic town, including the Shrivers. Once a year, visitors can experience the battle through the eyes of this ordinary family that lived through extraordinary circumstances. Listen to Hettie Shriver and her neighbors discuss the possible invasion. Stand just feet away from Confederate sharpshooters as they fire muskets from the window in the sweltering attic. See the rooms ransacked by enemy forces. Imagine the destruction left in the wake of the battle.

The 2025 Shriver House reenactment will take place on Saturday, July 5th. Reservations are required. Tickets are $20/general admission, $18/ACHS members, $15/youth (K-12).
