160th Anniversary Flag Raising Commemoration

On July 1, begin your 160th commemoration with a special 160th Anniversary flag raising ceremony on Barlow’s Knoll beginning at 8:45 a.m. The program will end at approximately 9:30 a.m.

Speakers include Gettysburg National Military Park Superintendent Steve Sims, officials from the The Gettysburg foundation, Adams County Historical Society, The Civil War Round Table of Gettysburg, Licensed Battlefield Guides, among others.

The event features music by  John Baker and Abbie Hoffman.

All are welcome. Attendees receive a 160th anniversary commemorative ribbon and a program.

Parking will be along the right side of Howard Ave which is one way. No parking is permitted on the grass, all tires must remain on the pavement, and parking is prohibited at the tip of Barlow’s Knoll where the ceremony will take place.

There is no rain date.  If weather is inclement, the flag cannot be raised.
