Join writer Judy S. Young and artist Sally Becker for a presentation of their collaboration in creating the children’s picture book, You Belong. After being encouraged by a local poetry group to turn a poem about her young son into an illustrated book, the creation of a “stereo vision” between Judy and artist Sally made this possible. Hear about the evolution of their process from a drawing class here at ACAC to concept drawings, software edits, and the world of publishing children’s literature. The ins and outs of the self-publishing world combined with the serendipity of help from friends made the journey an adventure! A discussion will follow to answer questions for those interested in publishing their own work.
