This is a regional event, one you might consider if venturing outside Adams County during your visit.
Enjoy a scenic ride through the beautiful countryside of York County to Glen Rock, PA with the William H. Simpson No. 17, our authentic replica steam locomotive, followed by a delicious meal at Capt. Bob’s Crabs in Railroad, PA. Limited seating reservations required, no walk ups.
First Responders (police, fire, EMT, paramedic) need only purchase their meal. The train ride is free! First Responders: call us at 717-942-2370 at least 3 days in advance to reserve your free ticket and order your meal. Please have a valid ID.
Tickets: $29 Adult (age 13+); $20 Child (age 2-12)
12 p.m. Ride: disembark in Railroad at 12:45 p.m. and re-board train at 2:15 p.m. for return to New Freedom
1:30 p.m. Ride: disembark in Railroad at 2:15 p.m. and re-board train at 3:45 p.m. for return to New Freedom
You have the choice of 1 of the following meal options (includes train ticket, meal, and tip):
Adult: ($29 train ticket) + $40.95 ½ dozen medium crabs, side of macaroni salad (6 oz.), cup of Maryland crab soup, and drink with refill
Adult: ($29 train ticket) + $19.95 4-piece chicken, side of macaroni salad (6 oz.), cup of Maryland crab soup, and drink with refill
Child: ($20 train ticket) + $6.95 2-piece chicken tenders, applesauce, chips, and drink with refill
Child: ($20 train ticket) + $9.95 4 crab minis, applesauce, chips, and drink with refill
Limited seating is available. The last day to make reservations is by 5 p.m. Thursday, September 1.
(Wheelchair lift is not available at Railroad; passengers who wish to exit the train must be able to climb up and down 6 steps without crew assistance.)
The coaches are pushed and pulled by our steam locomotive. This excursion is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Tickets will be printed and available for pick up at the ticket booth on the day of the excursion.
