Save the date for a unique art show. Many of the area’s most noted artists show their work in the 15th Annual BarnArt Show & Sale at the historic 200-year-old G.A.R. Hall on 53 East Middle Street in Gettysburg.
All the artworks accepted into this exhibit include a representation of a barn or a detail of a barn. Last year, there were more than 85 paintings, photographs and mixed media artworks on display — an even larger exbibit is expected in 2023!
The Opening Night Reception is held on Friday, June 9, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Awards will be given at 7:30p.m. The exhibit then will be open to the public on Saturday, June 10 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday, June 11 from noon to 4 p.m.
The BarnArt Show also features a special exhibit of photographs by Darryl Wheeler, long-time Gettysburg Times photographer. Selected from his vast collection of photographs of local barns, Darryl has chosen images of barns that are “Gone, But Not Forgotten.” Darryl will be on hand at the G.A.R. Hall to talk about the barns and his photos on Saturday, June 10 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
