Memorial Day Ride to Hanover Junction

All Aboard to Celebrate Our Heroes! Veterans and active-duty military ride free!

Join us as we celebrate the service of veterans and active-duty military! Outside your window is the beautiful Heritage Rail Trail County Park and southern York County countryside on this trip to Hanover Junction. Our historic PRR GP9 Diesel Locomotive built-in 1959 will take you back in time to the 1860s when President Abraham Lincoln rode these tracks on his way to Gettysburg to deliver the Gettysburg Address. The excursion includes a 20-minute stopover at the Hanover Junction Museum.

Veterans and active-duty military: call us at 717-942-2370 at least 3 days in advance to reserve your ticket. Please have a valid ID.

(Wheelchair lift is not available at Hanover Junction; passengers who wish to exit the train must be able to climb up and down 6 steps without crew assistance.)

The cars are pulled and pushed by our vintage diesel locomotive.

This excursion is 2 ½ hours.

Tickets will be printed and available for pick up at the ticket booth on the day of the excursion.
