This 60-minute talk is hosted by Ken Rich, to be held on Sunday, January 22. The topic is the Aftermath of the Great Battle.
The armies left Gettysburg after the great battle yet that was just the beginning of the recovery. In July, some of the tasks ahead included: burying the dead, feeding the civilian population, caring for the wounded, and repairing the damage.
Discussion includes some of the accounts of those fateful days in 1863.
The event ends in time for everyone to go to the Gettysburg National Military Park lecture.
This is the second in a of a series of winter lectures held on Sunday mornings at the Hub in the rear of Gettys Gear at 777 Baltimore Street.
Doors open at 1030 a.m. and coffee is sold at the program.
The Lectures are free of charge.
