Wednesday, March 26th @ 6:30 EST, USAHEC hosts four distinguished military historians to discuss the roles of women, families and followers in service to their country during the American Revolution.
These historians will each speak on topics exploring community, families, and the role of women during the American Revolution and the French and Indian War, including: “The Continental Army’s Community: Followers and Families at Carlisle’s “Washingtonburg,” with Dr. Holly Mayer; “Housing Continentals: The “Washingtonburg” Depot at Carlisle” with Dr. Steven Elliott; “French and Indian War Hospital and Staff- John Forbes 1758 campaign – Carlisle Encampment,” with Dr. Erica Nuckles; and “The Women’s War,” with Dr. Jacqueline Beatty. Following the panel presentations, the historians will take some time to discuss community during the Revolution and answer questions from the audience.
Doors open at 6:00 pm and the lecture will start at 6:30 pm. The event is free and open to the public and will include book sales and signing by our panel members at the end of the program.
