Gettysburg Licensed Town Historians/Guides, specialize in providing 90-minute walking tours of Gettysburg to groups of any size, age and fitness level.
Parties of 10 or more paying guests are encouraged to book a group tour. We can customize a tour for your group or you can select one from our website. We also offer various programs which can be customized for your group.
We offer special walking tours for school groups, which offer a special blend of education, history and entertainment regarding the civilians’ experience during the three-day battle. These tours can be 60-minutes or 90-minutes in length and are easy walking.
Using historic sites, period photography and first-hand accounts we bring the town and residents to life! We offer a variety of 90-minute tours:
- Town Tour- Experience Gettysburg’s long history by walking through its streets.
- Black History Tour–Learn about the black community of Gettysburg and events that made Gettysburg an important stop on the road to freedom.
- Seldom Seen Tour– See places off the beaten path
- Danger & Courage (Southern End Tour)– Learn about the events in the southern end of town.
Daytime tours are 90 min. daily between 10am and 3pm and cost $25 for adults, students (9-17) are $10, and children 8 and under are free.
We also offer shorter, one-hour evening tours on various themes that begin at 6pm. (5pm after the start of standard time). The cost is $15; children 8 and under are free.
- Sunday & Monday: Lincoln Tour– Experience Lincoln’s 25 hours in Gettysburg.
- Tuesday & Thursday: Battle in the Streets–Learn about the fighting in the streets and how the civilians coped with it
- Wednesday& Friday— Historic Tavern Tours– Balloon Rides, Murder, Tanks, Medal of Honor. No alcohol, but vouchers for food and wine may be available.
- Saturday: Mystery/Untold Tales Tour–Secret meetings, murder never solved.
For Boy Scout groups we offer The Historic Gettysburg Trail, a three-mile walking tour of the town of Gettysburg which takes two to three hours to complete. This is part of The Gettysburg Heritage Trail Program. Or if you are just interested in knowing more about the town and civilians, please join us for one of our 90-minute walking tours.
Girl Scouts can walk with a historian and learn what it was like to be a girl living in 1863 Gettysburg before, during and after the battle, as women and girls played a huge part in caring for the wounded soldiers, Union and Confederate.
