Highlighting the rich agriculture of the region, Destination Gettysburg in May launched the 2024 Adams County Crop Hop passport featuring several new locations on its 24-stop trail.
The farm and market trail includes two dozen farms, markets, and agricultural attractions across Adams County, up from 20 locations in 2023. As trail-goers explore the Crop Hop they will discover family farms, charming markets filled with local produce, and ways to enjoy the great outdoors. Visitors can pick their own fruit, take a horse drawn carriage ride, traverse mazes, meet four-legged friends, and more.
“When we started the Crop Hop three years ago, we wanted to make sure everyone could experience all of the hidden gems in the Adams County countryside,” Destination Gettysburg President and CEO Karl Pietrzak said. “Along the trail, visitors and residents can buy locally grown food straight from the people who farm this land, and that’s a really special experience.”
The Crop Hop digital passport not only serves as a guide but provides discounts to many of the markets on the trail. The 2024 passport offers more discounts than ever before.
Since the launch of the Adams County Crop Hop in 2021, the digital passport has seen more than 2,500 active users from 38 states.
To embark on the adventure, users can sign up for their free digital passport at AdamsCountyCropHop.com. Users then take their mobile device with them on the trail and check in at locations to earn points and unlock discounts. Points can be used to redeem prizes such as a cutting board, insulated tote bag, and beverage tumbler.
“If Gettysburg wasn’t famous for its history, it would be for the amazing agriculture that surrounds this town,” Pietrzak said. “The Crop Hop is the guide to exploring that farmland and experiencing the full bounty of Adams County.”
