America 250th in Adams County, Pa.
Welcome to Adams County, Pennsylvania’s commemoration of America 250th. Over the next two years, this community – steeped in American history – will welcome millions of visitors to mark this national milestone anniversary.
While Gettysburg’s renowned history largely points to eras after the birth of our nation, we truly believe that the story of America cannot be told without Gettysburg – from its epic Civil War battle and Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address, to the Eisenhower family who settled down on this farmland and welcomed dignitaries from around the world, to the abundant varieties of apples that have fed Americans on the East Coast for centuries.
We invite you to visit America’s favorite historic town and stand where history was made – to see first-hand the landmarks that stand in reflection of America’s most trying time – where democracy and the vision that our forefathers established “four score and seven years” prior faced its toughest test.
