Established as the Gettysburg Travel Council in 1955, our organization has grown to over 300 business partners and two locations. Visitors can find travel assistance at our Administrative Office located on Fairfield Road as well as the information counter at the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center.
We are a partnership-based organization, here to assist the visitor, our partners and the community. Our efforts are based on the value to the visitor, partner, and community and to the overall economic impact on Adams County. It is our mission to promote Gettysburg-Adams County as a premier travel destination to benefit and enhance our community by sharing history and creating new experiences.
It is also our mission to promote tourism and its positive economic benefits. In doing so, Destination Gettysburg leads the Adams County tourism industry in presenting a positive visitor experience while preserving its rich cultural heritage and promoting all partner tourism-related businesses throughout the County. This mission is achieved by aggressive marketing and building partnerships with federal, state and local entities while maximizing all available resources.
You can learn more about our work and the impact that tourism has on the Adams County Community by visiting our sister website – GettysburgTourismWorks.com.
Destination Gettysburg produces the annual Official Inspiration Guide, in addition to operating this website, to assist in planning your visit to Gettysburg and Adams County. We also deliver a monthly eNewsletter and promote the destination through social media channels and media relations efforts. A sales team reaches the group tour, meetings, reunions and international markets to expand our message beyond the leisure traveler.
