The Steering Commission for the America 250th commemoration in Adams County, Pennsylvania, invites organizations, businesses, local municipalities and others to plan events to celebrate the semi-quincentennial of the United States.
We are looking for events of all shapes and sizes, ranging from historical presentations, living history encampments of all eras, parades, parties, performances and picnics. Events can be planned for an audience of dozens or thousands.
All official America 250th events in Adams County will be reviewed and approved by a committee who will analyze these events based on their alignment with the four pillars of America250PA – education, preservation, innovation and celebration.
What makes a good America 250th event or project? Any event or activity that engages visitors and local residents in a way that educates or celebrates our local or national history is exactly what we are looking for. Through the end of 2026, we’ll honor this history through a variety of presentations through authors, re-enactors and living historians, museums, tour guides and more.
