In November 2026, Gettysburg will host a landmark commemoration as Lincoln at Gettysburg: Shall Not Perish brings history back to the place where it forever changed the nation. Timed to the closing months of America’s 250th anniversary, this live, theatrical re-creation honors President Abraham Lincoln’s 1863 visit to Gettysburg and the words that reshaped the meaning of the American experiment.

Plans unfold over many months, reflecting the scale and care required to honor a moment that still resonates more than 160 years later. In partnership with Gettysburg National Military Park, the Borough of Gettysburg, Gettysburg College, the Gettysburg Foundation, and led by the Lincoln Fellowship of Pennsylvania, the event will faithfully re-create Lincoln’s arrival, movements, and the solemn dedication of the Soldiers’ National Cemetery.

On November 18, 2026, Lincoln’s historic journey is reimagined as he arrives by train, is welcomed in town, and stays at the Wills House. On November 19, visitors can follow the full presidential procession from Lincoln Square to the National Cemetery, culminating in a powerful re-creation of the Gettysburg Address—delivered in the very place where it was first spoken.
As this rare and meaningful event approaches, details, schedules, and opportunities to participate continue to be announced. For the most up-to-date information and visitor planning, follow ongoing coverage on the Destination Gettysburg website. An official event website will launch closer to the commemoration, serving as a central resource for this historic moment—one that shall long endure.
