On February 14, the Gettysburg Railway will host the 3rd Annual “Gettysburg Loves Love” Vow Renewal, an increasingly popular tradition that last year welcomed more than 200 couples from nine states, including newlyweds and even a pair celebrating 70 years of marriage.
Held at the historic 1884 Gettysburg Railway Depot, the ceremony will be led by Gettysburg Mayor Chad-Alan Carr and live-streamed by Community Media so family and friends can join from afar. The event is free, open to the public, and offers a charming winter setting as couples gather in coats and scarves, holding hands and celebrating love in one of Pennsylvania’s most romantic small towns.
After the ceremony, couples may continue the celebration aboard Gettysburg Railway’s Valentine’s Day excursion train, a cozy heated ride through the winter countryside. Two ticketed experiences are available, including the Premier Honeymoon Experience with champagne, curated treats, keepsakes, and priority boarding, as well as the General Valentine’s Day Excursion with Valentine’s treats and champagne available onboard.
Gettysburg has recently been recognized as a top romantic destination, named Pennsylvania’s most romantic small town and ranked among the Top 20 romantic getaways in the state.
The vow renewal takes place Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Gettysburg Railway’s historic depot, with the excursion train departing at 12:30 p.m. Tickets are required for the train ride. Couples may RSVP at www.gettysburglove.org, and train tickets are available at www.gettysburgrailway.com.
