Eisenhower National Historic Site Easter Egg Roll

The Eisenhower National Historic Site will host its third annual Easter Egg Roll on Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a rain date of Monday, April 6. The event invites young visitors and families to enjoy a festive day of activities inspired by a beloved presidential tradition.

President Dwight D. Eisenhower and First Lady Mamie Eisenhower revived the White House Easter Egg Roll on the South Lawn in 1953 after it had been suspended during World War II and the years of food rationing that followed. The Gettysburg event celebrates that historic moment while highlighting the Eisenhower family’s own holiday traditions.

Children can decorate their own wooden egg and participate in an Easter Egg Roll on the lawn of the Eisenhower home. Families will also have the opportunity to learn about how the Eisenhowers celebrated Easter and spent time with their children and grandchildren.

The Eisenhower home will be open during the event for informal, open-house style tours, offering visitors a chance to explore the historic residence where the Eisenhowers spent many holidays together. The final entry for tours will be at 2 p.m.

In the spirit of the original Eisenhower Presidential Easter Egg Roll, park staff invite families to celebrate spring, history, and community at this special annual event.
