Ye Olde Sulphur Spa Historical Society in York Springs officially opens its new exhibit, “In Pursuit of Life, Liberty & Happiness,” on May 3, 2026, in honor of America’s 250th anniversary. This special event, taking place in Adams County, marks the launch of an educational exhibit highlighting the history of northeastern Adams County from original settlement through the period of the American Revolution.

The exhibit explores the region’s geology, Native American presence, early land settlement, and the people and communities who first established themselves in the area. It also examines the development of early roads and local life leading into the French and Indian War, before focusing on events and experiences in northeastern Adams County during the American Revolution.

Through this commemorative exhibit, the Society aims to educate the public, preserve local history, and celebrate the stories and foundations that shaped the region during the nation’s founding era.
