HGAC launches its Educational Speaker Series at the historic G.A.R. Hall, 53 East Middle Street in Gettysburg, on Thursday, April 16. The program features Thomas Nank, a research assistant with the American Battlefield Trust and retired U.S. Navy Master Chief Petty Officer, presenting “From Canada to France: The Story of a Michigan Sailor in the Civil War’s Greatest Sea Battle.” The talk offers insight into the dramatic and significant role of naval operations during the Civil War.
The speaker series is free and open to the public and continues on the third Thursday of each month. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with the presentation beginning at 7 p.m. No reservations are required, and the venue is handicapped accessible.
