Adam Shefts, the Victorian Historian, brings “The Victorian Historian: Strange & Curious Stories of 19th-Century America” to Gettysburg, PA on Saturday, May 23 at 3 p.m. The program takes place in the Garden Room behind the Shriver House Museum at 307 Baltimore Street in downtown Gettysburg.
Shefts explores a range of bizarre and little-known stories, from dangerous holiday games and forgotten disasters to strange inventions and parlor pranks. Through live demonstrations and audience interaction, he delivers an engaging history program that highlights just how surprising and entertaining 19th-century America can be.
Admission is free for Gettysburg History members and youth, with general admission priced at $10.
