Seminary Ridge Museum & Education Center presents “Revolution on the Ridge: The Captain, the Colonel, and the Culpeper Minutemen” on Friday, May 29 from 3:30–4:30 p.m. at 111 Seminary Ridge in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Held on the historic grounds of Seminary Ridge, this outdoor program connects the American Revolution to the events of the Civil War at one of the nation’s most significant sites.
Historian Codie Eash explores the Revolutionary War lineage of Brig. Gen. John Buford, whose leadership shaped the opening hours of the Battle of Gettysburg on July 1, 1863. The program highlights how Buford’s family ties to the War of Independence reflect a broader legacy of service, reinforcing Gettysburg’s role in the continuing American story as the nation approaches its 250th anniversary.
This free program takes place outdoors, weather permitting. Guests should meet at the Luther Statue.
