Confederates Take the Shriver House returns to the Shriver House Museum in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, on July 4 for its 27th annual living history reenactment. Held for one evening only, this popular Gettysburg event brings the Civil War story of the Shriver family to life through guided tours, live reenactors, and immersive scenes throughout the historic home.
Throughout the evening, visitors can stand just feet from soldiers firing from the attic, hear from Ms. Hettie and her neighbors as the battle draws near, and learn how surgeons and nurses treated wounded soldiers during the fighting. Guests can also enjoy a cool root beer in the saloon while exploring one of downtown Gettysburg’s best-known historic attractions.
Tours begin at 5 p.m. and last approximately 45 minutes. Advance tickets are encouraged, as this annual Gettysburg reenactment sells out every year.
Tickets are $20 for general admission, $18 for Gettysburg History members, and $15 for youth in grades K–12.
