Summer Classics – Vertigo (1958)

The Majestic Theater’s Summer Classics Series continues on June 17 at 7:30 p.m. with Alfred Hitchcock’s masterpiece Vertigo. Widely regarded as one of the greatest films ever made, this psychological thriller follows a retired San Francisco detective suffering from acrophobia who becomes entangled in the mysterious behavior of an old friend’s wife. As his investigation deepens, obsession, deception, and suspense drive him toward a haunting and unforgettable conclusion.

Directed by Alfred Hitchcock and starring James Stewart, Kim Novak, and Barbara Bel Geddes, Vertigo combines stunning cinematography, a celebrated musical score, and one of cinema’s most compelling mysteries. The film’s exploration of identity, desire, and obsession continues to captivate audiences decades after its original release.

Rated PG with a runtime of 2 hours and 8 minutes, Vertigo screens at the historic Majestic Theater in downtown Gettysburg. Seating begins 30 minutes before showtime. All sales are final, and film titles remain subject to change.
