“Let It Be Me” The Jennie Wade Story

Experience the Battle of Gettysburg through the eyes of one of its most remembered civilian casualties during “Let It Be Me: The Jenny Wade Story,” an immersive historical production at the Jennie Wade House in Gettysburg. Set inside the historic brick home on Cemetery Hill, this powerful experience transports guests back to July 1863 as the Battle of Gettysburg unfolds outside the Wade family’s door.

Through dramatic storytelling, authentic settings, and sensory effects, visitors step into the sights, sounds, and emotions of three devastating days that changed Gettysburg forever. The experience recreates the chaos of battle and the hardships endured by civilians caught in the crossfire, offering a deeper understanding of the events that unfolded inside the home where Jennie Wade lost her life.

Tours take place July 3 and July 4 at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. at the Jennie Wade House, 548 Baltimore Street, Gettysburg. Guests should arrive at the Jennie Wade House Gift Shop at least 15 minutes before their scheduled tour time. Free parking is available at the Gettysburg Tour Center.

Please note that this highly immersive historical experience includes loud cannon fire, gunshots, darkness, distressing wartime scenes, and emotionally intense depictions of civilian suffering and death. Due to the realistic nature of the presentation, the experience may not be suitable for young children or sensitive guests.

For those seeking a moving and memorable Gettysburg experience, “Let It Be Me: The Jenny Wade Story” offers a powerful connection to one family’s story during America’s bloodiest battle.
