Gettysburg Licensed Town Guides presents Danger & Courage, a Southern-end Town Tour exploring lower Baltimore Street and Steinwehr Avenue, an area caught in “no man’s land” during the Battle of Gettysburg. Offered April through November 20 at 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 1:30 p.m., this guided walking tour shares the civilian stories, street fighting, and tense moments that shaped Gettysburg’s southern end.

Led by a licensed town guide, the tour covers the tragic death of Jennie Wade, how residents survived the battle, the aftermath, presidential visits, and early Gettysburg history. Guests hear how civilians endured crossfire between Union and Confederate troops while war moved through their streets and neighborhoods.

Each Danger & Courage tour offers a unique perspective through primary-source narratives, local history, and stories that reveal Gettysburg beyond the battlefield. The guide provides the meeting location after booking. Advance reservations are required.
