John Clayton & ETHEL: Reflections on Monk and Bach

John Clayton and ETHEL bring an evening of jazz, classical innovation, and genre-defying performance to the Majestic Theater on Carlisle Street in Gettysburg on Friday, February 5, at 8:00 PM. Presented with the Sunderman Conservatory of Music, the concert pairs acclaimed bassist, composer, arranger, and producer John Clayton with GRAMMY-winning string quartet ETHEL.

Clayton has collaborated with Diana Krall, Paul McCartney, Queen Latifah, Yo-Yo Ma, and Count Basie. He also co-founded the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra and arranged Whitney Houston’s celebrated Super Bowl performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner.” ETHEL adds nearly three decades of bold, boundary-pushing musicianship shaped by contemporary composition and global performances.

A pre-show dinner begins at 6:30 PM and features Tuscan chicken, salmon Florentine, or mushroom bourguignon, plus salad and dessert. Dinner tickets cost $41–$43, remain separate from performance admission, and offer limited availability. The concert begins at 8:00 PM at the Majestic Theater, 25 Carlisle Street, Gettysburg.
