Harbaugh-Thomas Library presents “Sarah Cook Myers: Recalling Lincoln at Gettysburg” on Thursday, November 5, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Harbaugh-Thomas Community Room at 59 W. York Street in Biglerville, PA.
Historian Debra Sandoe McCauslin brings Adams County history to life through her portrayal of Sarah “Sallie” Cook, a birthright Quaker and local teacher. On November 19, 1863, Sarah met Abraham Lincoln at the home of David Wills in Gettysburg. She later listened as the president delivered the Gettysburg Address at the cemetery.
This living history performance gives adults a local perspective on Lincoln’s historic visit to Gettysburg and one of the most significant moments in American history. As communities commemorate America250PA, the program offers a meaningful opportunity to explore the people and events that shaped the nation’s history through the experiences of an Adams County resident.
Registration is required and opens September 5, 2026, at 12:00 a.m.
