Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this beautiful 1862 Federal-style house is situated on 18 private acres just two miles from the Gettysburg National Military Park.

Used as a hospital during the Battle of Gettysburg, it now welcomes guests as a historic six-room B&B.

Come for the history, stay for the hospitality!

Choose from five rooms and one suite. We have carefully preserved the original character of Isaac Lightner’s 1862 home, including the wide moldings, random-plank floors, and four fireplaces while adding modern conveniences. The rooms are named after soldiers who were at Lightner Farm during the Battle of Gettysburg (and Abraham Lincoln, because even the White House has a Lincoln Bedroom).  The rooms feature historical décor, queen beds, HDTVs, complimentary Wi-Fi, air conditioning, ceiling fans, and private en suite bathrooms.

The farmhouse tells a story of its own. The entire property was used as a Civil War Hospital for wounded soldiers following the Battle of Gettysburg. Today, the Farmhouse offers the feel of history with modern comforts and extraordinary hospitality.

Mornings at The Lightner Farmhouse begin in our lovely dining room where guests may sit by a window and watch the wildlife outside prior to enjoying our 3-course breakfast on fine china.

Come for the history, stay for the hospitality. We look forward to your stay.
