Our museum preserves and exhibits the history of the apple and fruit tree industry in Adams County, Pennsylvania through a number of exciting exhibits housed in a restored pre-Civil War bank barn. Today, Adams County is one of the most intensive fruit culture regions in the country with nationally known processors and a variety of support industries. We are the 4th largest producer of apples in the United States, and the largest producer in Pennsylvania.

Our museum exhibits include early picking, packing and shipping of fruit, pest management, commercial fruit processing equipment, early orchard photographs, apple antiques and a recreated 1880’s farm kitchen and General Store. The museum also features collections of farming implements, apple peelers and fruit labels and much more apple memorabilia. Learn how the fruit industry impacted the growth and development of Adams County, as it still does today. The museum opened in 1990, and is owned and operated by the Biglerville Historical and Preservation Society.

After you explore the museum, enjoy a treat of delicious apple juice and cookies, an 18-minute video “Apples, Apples, Apples,” a guided tour of the second level exhibits and a visit to the gift shop filled with apple and orchard themed items. Also learn how to make your own apple crate as a souvenir of your visit!

Admission is as follows:
