Spirit of Gettysburg 5K and Kids Runs

The Spirit of Gettysburg 5K normally travels the first day of the historic Battle of Gettysburg, past the Eternal Light Peace Memorial. If you love road races, or want to run in one for the first time, the Spirit of Gettysburg 5K is for you.

The Spirit of Gettysburg is a beautiful 3.1-mile run that travels the first day of the Battle of Gettysburg, around the Eternal Light Peace Memorial. The Gettysburg National Military Park is a special place and extremely hallowed ground. Our runners have always been extremely cognizant of that, which we appreciate greatly.

Your commitment to the Spirit of Gettysburg 5K helps the YWCA raise much-needed funds so we can carry out our mission – “Eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.” This mission has been extremely important for decades but events nationally last year put it at the forefront of many people’s minds. Even at the height of COVID, our mission enhancement director, Nancy Lilley, was hosting Zoom discussions to help people understand and discuss the fight for racial justice.
