Own a piece of history!
Our products are made of wood from trees harvested from the Gettysburg Battlefield .in historic Adams County, Pennsylvania.
We use two types of wood for our unique products, wood from Witness Trees and wood from Battlefield Trees.
Witness Tree Wood is from trees that stood during the Battle of Gettysburg in July of 1863 thus truly witness the events of the three day battle and beyond.
Battlefield Tree Wood is from more modern trees. Those that have been harvested long after the battle, but are no less loyal sentinels of this sacred ground.

About Gettysburg Sentinels
Gettysburg Sentinels was founded in 2007 by retired Army Lt. Colonel, William D. Hewitt for the purpose of affording the opportunity for those who cherish history to own products made from wood legally harvested from the Gettysburg Battlefield.
In early 2022 Colonel Hewitt sold Gettysburg Sentinels to long-time friend and fellow woodworker Greg Allen. Greg and his wife Tina have lived in a historic house on Chambersburg Road just west of the battlefield since 1986 where most notably Colonel Henry Burgwyn was buried late in the morning of July 1, 1863. The youngest Colonel in the Confederate Army, Burgwyn was mortally wounded by Union infantry while saving the Regimental colours about 9:30 that morning. He was removed from the field where he died on their property later that morning.
Greg retired in January of 2022 after a 40-year career from a company he and Tina founded in 1982. His passion for history and love of woodworking will continue the legacy of this very unique business that is Gettysburg Sentinels.
