Gettysburg Foundation Board member David Malgee presents a biography of Colonel Eliakim Sherrill and displays his personal artifacts relating to Col. Sherrill. See the colonel’s full uniform and objects he carried to Gettysburg that he had with him at the time of his mortal wounding at the height of Pickett’s Charge.

Col. Sherrill is one of the least documented regimental and brigade officers who fought in the Battle of Gettysburg. Hear stories about him that have never before been researched or published—at the very location where he died July 4, 1863—the George Spangler Farm & Field Hospital.

Timed shuttle tickets for admission to the historic site are free with your purchase of a ticket to the experiences at the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center. Or single timed shuttle tickets are available. Timed shuttle tickets are required.
