The Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg takes place on July 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.
This solemn occasion marks a pivotal turning point in American history, and we invite you to explore the hallowed grounds where the largest battle ever fought on U.S. soil took place, and walk in the footsteps of history as you visit significant locations on the battlefield and in and around the town.
Throughout the commemoration, there a variety of events and programs that celebrate America’s independence while honoring the legacy of those who fought in the Battle of Gettysburg. From patriotic flute performances and musical tributes to guided historical tours and special presentations, there’s no shortage of ways to honor the bravery and sacrifice of those who came before us.
One of the biggest and most well-known events is the annual Gettysburg Reenactment, which draws thousands of Civil War enthusiasts and history buffs from across the country and even around the world. And we cannot go without mentioning the One Hundred Nights of Taps, where we pay tribute to the fallen soldiers who gave their lives for their country and the fourth of July fireworks.
Join us as we march onward in remembrance and reverence, honoring the heroes of the past and preserving their memory for generations to come. Together, let us ensure that the lessons of Gettysburg are never forgotten, and that the spirit of unity and resilience that emerged from this sacred ground continues to inspire us all.
