The Adams County America 250th Steering Commission invites local organizations, businesses, municipalities, and community groups to take part in this historic commemoration. As we approach the nation’s 250th anniversary, we’re seeking events and projects that honor our shared history, reflect our community’s creativity, and inspire connection across generations.
We welcome events of all kinds, from historical presentations and living history encampments to concerts, festivals, lectures, performances, and community gatherings. Whether your idea is intimate or large-scale, every event that helps tell America’s story has a place in Adams County’s America 250th observance.
All events must take place in Adams County.
Each submitted event will be reviewed by our committee to ensure alignment with the
four pillars of America250PA:

Any organization, business, municipality, nonprofit, or community group in Adams County, Pennsylvania is welcome to participate. Whether you’re a historical society, school, performing arts group, or small business, your ideas and events can play a part in telling America’s 250-year story.
We welcome events of all kinds that align with the goals of America 250th, from historical presentations and living history programs to concerts, lectures, festivals, art exhibits, and educational workshops. Events can be large or small, traditional or creative, as long as they connect visitors and residents to our shared American story.
Not necessarily. While many events will reflect on history, we also encourage projects that highlight art, culture, innovation, and community connection, all of which have shaped the American experience. The goal is to honor both where we’ve been and where we’re going.
All submitted events are reviewed by a committee of the Adams County America 250th Steering Commission. Events are evaluated based on their alignment with the four pillars of America250PA, Education, Preservation, Innovation, and Reflection, as well as their overall community impact and accessibility.
Events can be held anytime between now and the end of 2026, as part of the nationwide America 250th commemoration. We recommend submitting your event early to allow time for review, coordination, and promotion.
Once your submission is received, a committee representative will review the details and follow up with you directly if more information is needed. Approved events will appear on the official Adams County America 250th events calendar and may be featured in future marketing or community materials.
Yes! Collaborative events are encouraged. If you’d like to connect with other organizations, venues, or volunteers to help bring your idea to life, email america250adams@gmail.com — our team can help facilitate introductions and planning support.
