Guests are invited to enjoy a one-hour horse-drawn carriage tour at Silvershire Farm, located just a 15-minute drive north of downtown Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

The experience takes visitors through the picturesque countryside landscapes and orchards of Adams County. In the spring, guests can witness the beauty of the orchards as the trees begin to blossom. During the fall, the surrounding mountains and hills come alive with vibrant yellows, ambers, and scarlets as the leaves change. Throughout the rest of the year, visitors can appreciate the rolling hills, countryside fields, and orchards as they fill with a variety of fruits and crops in preparation for harvest.

The tour is enjoyed at a leisurely, relaxing pace aboard a carriage pulled by two gentle giants—Silvershire Farm’s Shire draft horses. Along the way, guests may also see an elk herd and a variety of other animals. As the carriage travels through two working farms, narration is provided, offering insight into the Shire horses, the orchards, and the surrounding countryside during the time of the Civil War Battle of Gettysburg.

At the conclusion of the one-hour ride, guests have the opportunity to meet and take photos with the horse team. Those interested may also meet the rest of the horses on the farm and feed them treats—an experience enjoyed by both kids and adults alike.
