Gettysburg Film Commission is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting film, television and media production in Gettysburg and Adams County, Pennsylvania. Established after the success of A Gettysburg Christmas in 2023, the commission works to connect filmmakers with local resources, businesses and residents while showcasing Gettysburg as a premier filming location.
Led by Gettysburg native Kris Webb and filmmaker Bo Brinkman, the commission provides expertise in on-location production, permitting and historical context. Their mission extends beyond production support, with programs that include internships, scholarships for local high school film students and opportunities for Gettysburg College students. By fostering education and professional development, the commission nurtures the next generation of filmmakers.
The Gettysburg Film Commission also creates community events that celebrate cinema. Highlights include the popular “Cinema Under the Stars” outdoor screenings and the upcoming Gettysburg Cinema Arts Festival in September 2025. These initiatives strengthen cultural tourism and invite audiences to experience the magic of storytelling against the backdrop of Gettysburg’s historic landscapes.
By promoting Gettysburg as a film-friendly destination, the commission enhances the local economy, preserves heritage and ensures filmmakers have the support they need to bring compelling stories to life in one of America’s most iconic towns.
