10th Annual Gettysburg Pride Weekend

Celebrate the 10th Annual Gettysburg Pride Weekend as part of America’s 250th anniversary with three days of community, visibility, and celebration in the historic borough.

The weekend kicks off on Friday, May 29 with a patriotic Pride Walk beginning at 4:30 PM from the Gettysburg Area Middle School. Participants will carry both American flags and Pride flags, honoring the nation’s 250th anniversary and the ongoing journey toward equality.

Following the walk, the Unitarian Universalists of Gettysburg plan to host an ice cream social (to be confirmed) at 136 S. Stratton Street. The evening continues with entertainment at 8:00 PM at the Gettysburg Community Theatre.

On Saturday, May 30, the celebration continues at the Gettysburg Recreation Park with the Pride 250: A New Birth of Freedom Festival. Opening ceremonies begin at noon at the band shell, followed by a full day of live entertainment, vendors, and a children’s activity area.

The day concludes with a community dance party from 5:30 to 7:00 PM, followed by evening entertainment at 8:00 PM at the Gettysburg Community Theatre.

On Sunday, May 31, the weekend continues with community yoga at 1:00 PM on the grass at the Recreation Park.

Gettysburg Pride Weekend 250 honors LGBTQ+ Americans past and present while celebrating the ongoing work of building a more perfect union—from 1776’s promise, through 1863’s rededication, to today’s continued progress.
