2026 Lincoln Highway Association Annual Conference

The 2026 Lincoln Highway Association Annual Conference takes place Monday, June 22, 2026 through Friday, June 26, 2026, celebrating the nation’s first coast-to-coast highway, established in 1913. The Lincoln Highway connects motorists from New York City to San Francisco and remains one of Pennsylvania’s most historic travel routes, bringing visitors through Lancaster, York, Gettysburg, and Chambersburg in the southcentral region.

The conference theme, Road to Independence: 250 Years of Freedom Along the Lincoln Highway, highlights the stories of the Colonial and Revolutionary periods, the Underground Railroad, the Civil War era, and early 20th-century automobile tourism and roadside attractions. Events throughout the week include an opening reception in York, full- and half-day bus tours to Gettysburg and surrounding communities, the Lincoln Highway Association annual meeting, walking tours, a Northern Central Railways train excursion, and an awards banquet. Lincoln Highway–themed presentations and an art exhibit open to Pennsylvania artists are also featured. Many conference activities are open to the public.

The conference represents education, preservation, innovation, and celebration through partnerships with America250PA and the Lincoln Highway Heritage Corridor, promoting the historic route during the nation’s 250th anniversary. Participants explore key Adams County sites including the Gettysburg National Military Park battlefield, the Wills House, and lesser-known roadside locations in Downtown Gettysburg. Additional experiences include visits to the World War II Experience, Caledonia State Park, and a program at the Thaddeus Stevens Blacksmith Shop, followed by dinner at the historic Cashtown Inn along the original Lincoln Highway alignment. Artists from Adams County are invited to participate in the exhibit, and attendees from across the country are encouraged to extend their visits in Adams County before and after the conference.
