35th Annual Adams County Heritage Festival

The 35th Annual Adams County Heritage Festival takes place on Sunday, September 20, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Gettysburg Area Recreation Park, 545 Long Lane, Gettysburg. Sponsored by the Interfaith Center for Peace and Justice, this annual celebration showcases the many cultures that enrich Adams County through music, food, art, and community traditions. Guided by the festival’s motto, “Sharing and appreciating the cultures of Adams County through music, food, and art… A celebration of unity in our community,” the event brings together residents and visitors for an afternoon of cultural discovery and connection.

Live entertainment, international cuisine, artisan vendors, craft demonstrations, children’s activities, and exhibits from local nonprofit organizations fill the park throughout the afternoon. Children can collect passport stamps at booths representing cultures from around the world, creating an interactive experience that encourages learning and appreciation for global traditions.

As part of the nationwide America 250 commemoration, the festival celebrates the diverse people, traditions, and stories that continue to shape the nation, making Gettysburg an especially fitting backdrop for recognizing both local heritage and America’s 250th anniversary.

Families can also join the popular Family Bicycle Parade, which departs from the main stage at 1:00 p.m. and follows the Biser Trail. Participants should gather on the basketball court behind the stage beginning around 12:30 p.m.

Held every third Sunday in September, the Adams County Heritage Festival regularly welcomes up to 1,200 attendees during favorable weather. Admission and parking are free.
