4th Annual Eisenhower Leadership Conference

On Saturday, November 15, the Eisenhower Institute hosts the 4th Annual Eisenhower Leadership Conference. The highlight of this full-day conference is a keynote address by Michael A. Mason, former Executive Assistant Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Drawing on his vast military, government and business experience, Mr. Mason’s keynote is titled “Flight Paths: How To Create Yours.”

The conference kicks off with a welcome address by Eisenhower Institute Executive in Residence Susan Eisenhower. A nationally-recognized authority on strategic leadership, Ms. Eisenhower will share leadership lessons from her book “How Ike Led: The Principles Behind Eisenhower’s Biggest Decisions.”

The conference is open to all students, faculty and staff.

In addition to Eisenhower and Mason, the conference includes a student presentation on legislative issues and a two-hour interactive leadership simulation where every student attending will have the opportunity to “role play” and work collaboratively to solve a real-world problem in a fictional setting.

The day concludes with a reflection and self-assessment of each participant’s leadership capacity. The conference is free, with breakfast and lunch included.

The Eisenhower Institute at Gettysburg College connects aspiring young leaders with public policy experts to discover their passion and tackle society’s most challenging issues. We are nonpartisan, inspired by President Eisenhower’s approach of engaging diverse people and ideas to find common ground and take action.
