ALBG Annual Seminar – “From the Peach Orchard to the Brian Farm: The Fighting on July 2, 1863”

The Association of Licensed Battlefield Guides invites you to a weekend full of in-depth tours and programs focusing on the Confederate attacks and the Union defense in the area of the Emmitsburg Road on the second day of the Battle of Gettysburg.

Friday November 6, the Seminar opens with a buffet dinner at the Historic Dobbin House, 1776, in the Abigail Adams Ballroom. Dinner will include a special presentation by Licensed Battlefield Guide Jim Hessler on the topic of “Sickles’ and Longstreet’s Preparations and Actions on July 2, 1863” to set the stage for the weekend’s programming.

Saturday and Sunday, November 7 & 8, bus transportation will carry guests to six different tours on the Gettysburg battlefield that focus on both the Confederate attack and Union defense of the actions along Emmitsburg Road.  Tours include Joseph Kershaw’s Attack, the attacks of Barksdale, Wofford, Wilcox, Lang, Wright, the Union defense, and the role of Artillery in the battle.
