Juneteenth | Cinema Under the Stars: Glory (1989)

Cinema Under the Stars presents a Juneteenth screening of the Civil War film Glory (1989) on Friday, June 19 from 8:15 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at Gettysburg Rec Park.

Following the Lincoln Cemetery Juneteenth Commemoration, the outdoor film screening tells the story of the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry, one of the first African American regiments in the Union Army during the Civil War. Before the film begins, a guest historian will offer brief remarks about the history of the United States Colored Troops and their role in the fight for freedom.

Guests are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs and enjoy an evening of film, reflection, and community beneath the stars.
