Civil War Reenactor Workshop for Women

The Gettysburg Heritage Center hosts a Civil War Reenactor Workshop for Women on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at 297 Steinwehr Avenue in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

This engaging and informative workshop is designed for women who are curious about Civil War reenacting and want to learn how to get started. Led by experienced women reenactors from the United States Volunteers, a national living history organization dedicated to authentic Civil War portrayals, the program offers an inside look at reenacting opportunities and expectations.

Participants will learn how to join reenacting units, explore both civilian and military roles available to portray, understand the differences between civilian and military impressions, and discover what camping gear is essential for events. The workshop also covers how to create authentic impressions and select historically accurate clothing for both civilian and military personas.

The cost to participate is $15 per person, with tickets available through GettysburgMuseumStore.com. For additional information, interested participants may contact info@gettysburgmuseum.com
or call 717-334-6245.

This workshop welcomes women of all ages and backgrounds who are ready to learn, explore, and begin their journey into living history.
