Gettysburg National Cemetery

Join us for the annual Dedication Day ceremony on November 19th in Gettysburg National Cemetery. The program features a wreath-laying, music, and a U.S. Naturalization and Citizenship ceremony.

This year’s keynote speaker will be Dr. Craig Symonds. He is Professor Emeritus of History at the United States Naval Academy, where he taught for thirty years, including a four-year term as History Department Chair. In 2008, his book, Lincoln and His Admirals: Abraham Lincoln, the U.S. Navy, and the Civil War, won the prestigious Lincoln Prize. In 2023, he won the prestigious 2023 Pritzker Military Museum & Library Literature Award.

Award-winning Lincoln scholar, Harold Holzer will be presenting the Gettysburg Address.

This event is free and open to the public.

Sponsored by the Lincoln Fellowship of Pennsylvania in partnership with the National Park Service, the Gettysburg Foundation and Gettysburg College, the ceremony begins at the cemetery’s rostrum.
