Civil War Era Dance Demonstrations

The Civil War Dance Foundation returns to the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center Saturday, May 25, 2024, with artifacts on display and period dance demonstrations.

The Civil War Dance Foundation will feature an exhibit in the Group Lobby of civilian artifacts including dance cards, hand fans, Victorian jewelry, 19th century photographs and Grand Army of the Republic memorabilia.

The Victorian Dance Ensemble, the performing troupe of the Civil War Dance Foundation, will perform demonstrations of common dances of the Civil War era. Dance demonstrations will be performed in the Group Lobby at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

The exhibits and dance performances are free of charge and open to the public.
