Earth Day Celebration Plant Night

CELEBRATE EARTH DAY AND TAKE HOME YOUR OWN PLANT
Come join us for our Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 22nd from 4PM to 7PM at the Eagle & The Owl. We’ll be partnering with Little Green House (from Waynesboro), Friends of Michaux, and Michaux Brewing Company for an evening of fun. Come with friends and enjoy some great food, a Michaux Brewing Company draft beer special, plant your own plant, and learn all about Friends of Michaux and all they do to support our local forests.

Little Green House will have an assortment of plants to choose from during the evening to take something very special home with you.

The 3.5″ terracotta with a 2″ plant will be $10. The 6″ plastic pot with a 4″ plant will be $18. Each will come with the soil and all materials needed for a happy healthy plant. There will also be additional plants for sale during the event.

About Friends of Michaux
A little bit about us: The Friends of Michaux State Forest is a chapter of the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation (PPFF). Our mission is to foster the preservation and enhancement of the forest’s recreational, cultural, and natural resources. We formed in 2019 and are a committed group of volunteers working to fulfill our mission. We work closely with Pennsylvania DCNR staff at the Michaux State Forest to complete on-the-ground projects and perform outreach and education to foster an ethic of stewardship across all users of the state forest. Just within the past month, we’ve been working on removing tree tubes from a reforestation site at the old Chambersburg Reservoir, doing trail maintenance, and helping to build a new trail system. We also coordinate a stewardship program that allows people to “adopt” a trail, road, or site, and through that program, we are able to maintain almost all of the campsites in Michaux and a number of trails and roads.
