The Daniel Lady Farm
888 Hanover Street
Gettysburg, PA
Gates open at 6:30pm with the first guided walking tour departing at 7pm. The last group tour departs at 9:30pm. The guided tour of different vignettes, around the historic farm, begins every 30-minutes by the historic barn. Some of the visitor experiences include the sights and sounds of a Civil War hospital in the historic barn, passing through a soldier’s funeral, being transported back to a time of Wild Bill Hickok, passing by Vlad the Impalor and his graveyard, hear ringing coffin bells, traveling through a Wild West mining operation, and being caught in the middle of a Civil War skirmish with cannon-fire.
This adventure is geared for the entire family, including younger children five and older. Parking is convenient and free beside the barn. The walking tour is on a grass path through the farm and surrounding woods, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. The tours are first come first served, with wrist bands available by the barn as you enter the farm. The Daniel Lady Farm Canteen will be open before and after the tours with cold beverages, hot cider, hot chocolate, hot dogs, caramel and apples, soft pretzels and Spooktacular sundaes. This Halloween weekend event is not only an entertaining and educational event for the entire family but also helps to preserve one of Adams County’s most historic and beautiful resources.
