Trunk-or-Treat Vehicle Guidelines at Memorial Baptist Church

If you are new to Trunk-or-Treat, it is an event where volunteers decorate the trunks of their cars and pass out individually wrapped candy to the children, some provided by donations from church members. The children walk by the cars and receive candy at each decorated car. It is a great time for the children to enjoy the evening and not feel scared, and it is a great opportunity to introduce families to our church.

There are lots of creative, family friendly ways that you can decorate your vehicle.

We recommend that you pick a theme for your vehicle and your costume. The less your car looks like a car, the better!

Because so many of our trunk-or-treaters will be preschoolers and toddlers, we ask that participants keep decorations kid friendly.

We have some guidelines which must be adhered to for all of our children’s safety at Trunk– or-Treat:

• No scary items or images like blood, skeletons, bats, witches, monsters, gore, etc.
• No toy weapons- guns, knives, etc, no open flames, fireworks, or flammable materials
• No pets permitted
• Cars must be turned off for the duration of the event
• No electricity will be available on site
• Please limit Trunk or Treaters to one visit per vehicle and plan to bring enough to pass out to all
participants
• Parents are responsible for their own children
• Cars will park in back parking lot. One space will be provided per vehicle.
• You may arrive as early as 4:30PM and please be ready by 5:15PM.
• CARS MUST BE READY BY 5:30 PM
• You may NOT leave the parking lot until 7:45 PM. If the times do not work for you, we would love to
have you volunteer in some other capacity.
• Once everyone is cleared from the lot, you may leave.
• All candy donations need to be submitted by Oct. 28th, please drop off at the church office.
