Fall Muster 2026

Join Gettysburg Foundation and Friends of Gettysburg members for two days of battlefield exploration, engaging presentations, and camaraderie during Gettysburg Foundation’s Fall Muster 2026.

This year’s event features a Friday evening program, seven expert-led battlefield experiences, lunch and evening social hour. The Friday evening registration and program will take place at the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center, 1195 Baltimore Pike, Gettysburg. The Saturday programs, lunch and evening social hour will take place or start at The Barn Resort, 75 Cunningham Road, Gettysburg.

“Acting as an Agent for Governor Curtin” – David Wills and the Creation of the National Cemetery with Dan Welch, Park Ranger
More than any other, Gettysburg citizen and prominent lawyer David Wills ensured that the Union soldiers who gave their last full measure of devotion received a final and fitting resting place. From the cemetery’s conception in July 1863 through the dedication of the Soldiers’ National Monument in July 1869, Wills worked tirelessly on the cemetery project, including the proposition of holding a dedication ceremony and supplying President Abraham Lincoln a quiet room to finish his “few appropriate remarks.” Discover the remarkable story of Wills’ leadership and important work in the creation of the Soldiers’ National Cemetery at Gettysburg.

Gather with fellow participants on the resort’s scenic patio to enjoy beautiful countryside views, great conversation and a casual cookout while reflecting on the day’s programs. It’s the perfect opportunity to connect with fellow supporters, Licensed Battlefield Guides, and Gettysburg Foundation staff in a relaxed setting.
