Family Day at George Spangler Farm & Field Hospital

The Gettysburg Foundation presents Family Day at George Spangler Farm & Field Hospital, inviting visitors to kick off the season with a free, family-friendly day of history and hands-on activities at one of the best-preserved Civil War field hospitals. Guests can explore the site, engage with interactive experiences, and enjoy a complimentary scoop of ice cream from Gettysburg’s Cone Sweet Cone.

The event takes place Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 488 Blacksmith Shop Road in Gettysburg. Admission is free and open to the public, and visitors may drive directly to the property, where limited on-site parking is available.
